I know the summer weather seems to have left us for the time being, but when it decides to re-appear and you’re looking for some where for some alfresco dining or drinking, try the Spinningfields area of Manchester.
This summer the piazza style space has been transformed into a perfect summer setting with an area called The Lawns, surrounded by pop up bars and stylish watering holes.
In Bloom is a simple structure with a gravelled area and summer seating, promising healthy food and cocktails, with many of the ingredients grown on site. Situated right next to the grassy lawns, you could be sat in your own garden, but with the added benefits of people watching!
The Long Bar, resembles one of the temporary architecturally designed structures of The Serpentine Gallery, that spring up every summer, with it’s trellis style exterior. The glass bi fold doors are perfect for bringing the outdoors in and with exclusive access to part of The Lawns, it has a VIP vibe. Thursday to Sundays, guest DJ’s bring you balearic tunes to to add to that summer mood.
A new permanent addition to the area, is Grand Pacific, owned by the equally stylish Australasia bar. If Ralph Lauren opened a bar, this is how it would look, white stylish Hamptonesque interior, with framed coral and shells lining the walls, perfectly recreating a summer setting. The canopied outdoor garden provides a beautiful oasis in the city.
Also new to the area is Artisan, a some what more sophisticated dining experience with the interior doubling up as a gallery space with art works for sale. Guest DJ’s provide the music throughout the week in the semi industrial style bar area.
