I m really looking forward to visiting the Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate this summer and checking out the Tracey Emin exhibition “she lay down deep beneath the sea.” I know Tracey Emin’s work is controversial and not to everybodys taste but I personally love her and am so pleased that she has helped to put Margate back on the tourist map. A few years ago we toured the Kent coast in our VW camper and the resorts of Margate, Ramsgate & Herne Bay all had a glorious faded Victorian charm about them.

If the unpredicatable British weather makes it impossible for the van to be our chosen accomodation, I have my eye on staying at the recently opened Reading Rooms in the old town quarter of Margate. This small boutique B&B is so stylish that I am almost hoping for rain!
