Independent Shops 2 ~ Junk Manchester

This weekend I took my friend Helen, who lives in Cornwall to The Northern Quarter in Manchester, to have a look around the Craft Market. Each time she comes to stay with us it’s Christmas and the craft market is always closed. As an avid stitcher, quilter and crafter, she was really looking forward to visiting and she wasn’t disappointed. We had a lovely chat with Andrea from &Made, who always has time for a natter with her customers and had a lovely vegetarian lunch in the Oak St. Cafe, based in the market.

We also paid a visit to Junk who have shops in Manchester & Didsbury. Junk is a treasure trove of vintage clothes, bric a brac and re-made items from recycled fabrics. They now have three of their own lines of clothing labels, providing a constantly evolving range of sustainable clothing and have also recently started running a fashion styling course where you get the chance to photograph your work using a lomography camera, which is provided by them for the duration of the course.
