Glam Exhibition Tate Liverpool Part Two

I mentioned recently that there was an exhibition being held at The Tate Liverpool, to celebrate the glam era from the 1970’s. Well last week I went to the exhibition and although i enjoyed it, I was a little disappointed with the lack of content overall.

There were some interesting images and posters but not a lot of things that I hadn’t seen before and I would have liked to have seen some more clothes, as let’s face it this was the decade of fashion. The more extreme, colourful and decadent you were dressed, the more in fashion you were.

There were some stage outfits from Brian ferry and Brian Eno, from Roxy music but that was it. No Ossie Clarke, no Biba, no Zandra Rhodes. It just seemed like a missed opportunity but that’s only my opinion and it’s still worth a trip to visit the Tate shop, which has some amazing books and memorabilia from the era.

Here are a few of the items on sale.

This is a great present for a Bowie fan, a dress up paper Bowie doll, featuring all his stage costumes

Love these ziggy earrings by Tatty Devine, available to buy online from the Tate shop.
