Yesterday I went to Manchester for a spot of retail therapy with my mum. Always on the look out for a good cup of tea, we went to North Tea Power for a pit stop. This is a lovely cafe, specialising in tea, located in the Northern Quarter part of Manchester city centre. As well as the selection of good teas and coffee, they make amazing cakes and wholsome sandwhiches. the decor is industrial salvage and it’s always a lively hub, with people working, networking and meeting friends.
My mum had the home made lemon drizzle cake and I had the flap jack made with banana and nutella spread, which was delicious and highly recommended, especially if you have a wheat allergy, as I do.

Another great place for a quick drink or bite to eat in Manchester is Teacup, again on Thomas Street in The Northern Quarter and if you fancy a touch of the hard stuff, they are licensed to sell wines and beers and have outdoor seating for when the weather is good again. They also hold regular events with details on their website.

A very recent new addition to the cafe society of Manchester is Fig & Sparrow on Oldham Street. The shop sells bespoke and hand made homewares, incorporating a cafe.
