A few weeks ago I was asked to style some shots for a trend which had been named non colour. Easy you might think, a no brainer, nothing much to think about there. But although the colour palette was practically non existent, mainly white, cream and grey, the shots had to look inspiring, aspirational and from the retailers point of view, homely and easy to live with, so that their customers would want to buy into the trend.
The best and only way to bring life into non colour or neutral colour schemes, is with texture and nothing adds texture or warmth more than natural wood. White and wood are a marriage made in heaven. The look can be contemporary or rustic, modern or heritage, either way it works.
