With spring fast approaching there are lots of vintage & craft fairs & events to look forward to in the Manchester area, so make a date in your diary.
Kicking off this Sunday 16/2 with Altrincham Vintage Market, which is a covered market, so a good all weather venue for this inclement weather we are experiencing. Its always a great market with a good range of traders selling all kinds of everything.
Next weekend I am very excited to find out that Urmston Market are holding their first Vintage & craft market, which has been a long time coming. The organisers are hoping that this will become a regular, once a month event, so anybody thinking about being a trader here get in touch with the organiser of Urmston Market. Saturday is a busy day in Urmston now that we have a large Sainsburys, so if this is well advertised and attended it could be something great for my home town.
Other markets to look forward to.
The Vintage Home Show at Victoria Baths Manchester is two treats in one. Firstly its purely vintage & retro homewares & furniture which makes it unique to the other fairs and great if you love vintage but don’t necessarily want to wear it, which is me really. Secondly the venue itself is a vintage treasure and a pure delight and surprise for anybody who hasn’t been here before. It is a former Victorian swimming baths which has been lovingly restored with help from the Lottery and the TV show restoration, amongst other benefactors. The tiles on the walls & floor as you enter the building will take your breath away and then it goes on from there. All in all a great day out.
