Summer Solstice Free Giveaway

There is nothing better in midsummer when the days are the longest, than making the most of those light evenings and dining alfresco.

As the evening becomes dusky and the swifts and swallows swoop overhead, there is nothing more romantic than lighting some candles and wrapping up in a blanket and watching the stars as night falls.

We don’t get as many balmy evenings as our European partners, so when we do, we need to make the most of them. Mid June, the 21st to be precise, is summer solstice and marks the longest day of the year and to celebrate this, the kind people at Red Lilly have provided my lovely readers, new and old, with a free gift of beautiful coloured tealights, which are perfect to adorn your garden table or hang in trees around your garden.

To enter all you have to do is follow my blog, by email, through bloglovin or via your google account. let me know by leaving me a comment at the bottom of this post. The easiest way for me to contact the lucky winner is if you leave your details on the giveaway entry on

Good luck and let’s hope this lovely balmy weather lasts all summer long!

    Hi Karen,

I love this blog. Each photograph captures the romantic atmosphere. I love outdoor lighting whether it is a bare light bulb or pretty coloured lanterns and candles. We have had some lovely warm light evenings and I for one will be sad when we have had our longest day next week.
