I’ve seen extracts from a lovely book called Homespun Style by Selina Lake. This type of styling is something that I love and I have lots of Homespun pieces around my own home, some made by myself and others I have picked up along the way from car boot sales and antique fairs.
This book is jam packed full of inspirational ideas and shots and many are so easy to make.
The online magazine 91, is giving away a copy in it’s new addition,
to a lucky winner and even if you’re not lucky enough to win, the
magazine is well worth a read.
A couple of my own projects in my bathroom. Padded hangers made from vintage fabric, and a wash bag made from vintage towelling. The cabinet started life as two wooden office cabinets which I attached on top of each other, repainted in pale grey and then decorated with samples of wallpaper which I coated in a mixture of pva glue and water, several times to protect the paper. The final finish was added with a selection of vintage cabinet handles and mock coral handles from Anthropologie. The whole project took one day and now I have loads of storage for my product addiction and something unique for my home.
