This afternoon I spent a few hours with two of my favourite people, my daughter and my mum, browsing around the Altrincham producers and vintage market, which is held on the third Sunday of every month.
The lovely traditional market in the heart of Altrincham, Cheshire, is fully covered so no need for a fair weather day and there are plenty of stalls selling food and refreshments, so that you can spend a couple of hours there browsing.
As well as the vintage stalls, there are crafters selling their creations and also a couple of home wares stores selling pretty vintage style items. Prices are competitive and many of the stall holders are happy to haggle. I bought a lovely vintage girls annual reduced from £12.00 down to £7.00. The next fair is on 21/10/12 and I’m sure there will be plenty of lovely ideas for Christmas. I was told by the lady who makes her own candles in vintage glasses and cups that she will have some Mistletoe scented candles next time. So instead of sticking to the High Street stores for our gifts, lets support our small independent traders and keep these wonderful markets, which are part of our heritage up and running.
