I’ve long been a fan of the wallpaper designs by Deborah Bowness, full of wit and nostalgic charm.
Deborah has now turned some of her wallpapers into installations, decorating walls within city centres with unexpected images. Near derelict buildings have been papered with images of chiffon ball gowns and exterior walls suddenly take on the persona of an interior room, complete with sofa & lamps. All very surreal and a great way of bringing some fun back to the city which, like all cities and towns has been hit by the recession, resulting in lots of sad, empty buildings.
The installations will be in and around Manchester through out September and you can see the venues on this map.
