Traditional country style is not really my thing, but when it’s done in a modern rustic way, with chalky, muted tones and collections of driftwood, pebbles & natures finds, from the coast, it is really beautiful.
This coastal home in the town of Hastings on the sussex coast, is pure bliss in every way, calming, cosy and with nooks and crannies of interesting collections everywhere. I love the bathroom especially and the idea for the panelled wall instead of a traditional shower screen is genius.
Can you just imagine waking up in that bedroom listening to the sound of the seagulls cries as the sun creeps through the curtains? As much as I enjoy travelling overseas for new experiences and cultures, nothing quite beats a summer holiday on the British coast. Hastings is a great town, with a good mix of the traditional Victorian seaside beach entertainment, punch & Judy shows, donkey rides and ice creams and a vibrant old town, full of interesting independent shops, artisan bakers and antique and vintage dealers.
