The month of September is probably my favourite month of the year. Crisp clear mornings and bright sunny days, if we are blessed with an Indian summer, like we have been this year, and nature turning on it’s magic creating warm tones everywhere.
Everything about Autumn is cosy and comforting and a real nesting season evoking candle lit evenings wrapped in snuggly knits and home cooked comfort food eaten in front of a log fire, what’s not to like?
When I was asked to style these gorgeous zinc edged frames for online interior retailer Rose & Grey, my immediate inspiration came from the colours of the season and the current trend for metallics within interiors.
The frames are not only ideal for displaying favourite photos and postcards, they are also perfect for mounting flat found objects, such as feathers, pressed dried flowers and pieces of fabric or lace.
I used copper accents and sprayed an oak leaf using Plastikote metallic spray paint in Copper, which literally takes a minute to dry. So fast & easy, I’ll be spraying anything that doesn’t move copper!
Styling your home for Autumn is easy if you use natures finds. Replace fresh flowers with foliage and decorative branches and decorate surfaces with pine cones, dried artichoke heads and beautiful found feathers.
